Stainless steel ear posts

For our plated earrings, we use stainless steel ear posts rather than plated ones because they are highly resistant to tarnishing. Since ear posts are in close contact with the skin, oils from the skin can accelerate tarnishing on silver or gold-plated jewelry. Additionally, silver or gold-plated pieces cannot be polished with jewelry cloth, as the plating may wear off.

Why not use sterling silver/gold filled ear posts for plated jewelry? Most customers choose plated jewelry because it offers a more affordable option compared to sterling silver or gold-filled pieces. Stainless steel ear posts are significantly more budget-friendly than sterling silver or gold-filled alternatives, allowing us to keep the pricing of our plated jewelry accessible.

Metal and allergies

Metal allergies can vary from person to person. Each piece of our jewelry lists the materials used in its description, and below you can find information about the possible allergens in the metals we use.

Brass: An alloy of copper and zinc, which may not be suitable for individuals allergic to these metals.

Sterling Silver: Known for being hypoallergenic and generally safe for most people.

Stainless Steel: Considered hypoallergenic for the majority of individuals.

Additionally, all of our jewelry is nickel-free.
