What do you think of when you see tiny gold beads that shimmer in the light?
For me, these little gold beads bring to mind the stars twinkling in the night sky. Living in a busy city, it’s rare to see the stars clearly because of the bright lights. Perhaps that’s why we’re so drawn to jewelry that sparkles?
When I first bought a bag of shiny gold seed beads, I couldn’t help but stir them gently in their jar with my crochet hook, captivated by their gleam. I spent a few moments simply staring at them, wondering how I could create a piece of jewelry that would reflect their beauty.
The first design I crafted was the Star Dust Petite Stud Earrings. I crocheted the gold beads gently spaced into a canvas of translucent white beads, letting the contrast speak—like stars shining through a soft veil of cloud.
Inspired by the beauty of the night sky, my next design was influenced by the Moon—the other luminous object that graces the night.
The Last Quarter Petite Stud Earrings were created to represent the final phase of the lunar cycle. During this phase, the Moon is three-quarters through its cycle, with only half of its surface illuminated by sunlight, symbolizing the balance between light and shadow.
Designing is often a quiet journey—one that begins with a small shimmer of inspiration. Thank you for following along as I turn those sparks into something you can hold and wear.
