I'm much more comfortable behind my workbench than in front of a camera. So when the Asia Art & Craft Fair team invited me to film a short Instagram Reel interview, I felt a mix of excitement and nerves.
As someone who spends most days quietly crocheting tiny beads into jewelry, talking about myself doesn't come naturally. I usually let my work do the talking. But this interview gave me a chance to share the story behind Daintynine—the journey, the inspiration, and the craft that goes into every piece.

One thing I enjoyed was talking about the technique behind my jewelry. Every Daintynine piece is created by crocheting tiny glass seed beads with fine cotton cordonnet thread, a technique I developed through years of experimenting. It's a slow and meticulous process, but it's also what makes my work so special to me.

I also want to give a special thank you to Zul, who interviewed me, filmed the Reel, and edited the final video. Thankfully, he was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to, which helped calm my nerves and made the whole interview feel much more relaxed than I expected. His warm and encouraging approach made it much easier to forget about the camera and simply enjoy the conversation. I'm really grateful for the wonderful experience and the beautiful Reel he created. Thank you, Zul!
The interview also made me pause and reflect on how far Daintynine has come. What started as an idea and a lot of trial and error has gradually grown into a brand with its own unique identity. Looking back, I'm grateful for every lesson, every challenge, and everyone who has supported this journey.

I'm still not completely used to seeing myself on camera, but I'm glad I stepped outside my comfort zone. Sometimes the story behind a handmade piece is just as meaningful as the piece itself, and it felt nice to be able to share a little of mine.
Here's the Instagram Reel below if you'd like to watch it. I hope it gives you a little glimpse into the heart behind Daintynine—and thank you, as always, for being part of this journey.
